BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique, leverage, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat and subdue the opponent.
If size mattered, the elephant would be the king of the jungle.
Practical Self Defense
BJJ equips and empowers a person to be able to defend themselves efficiently without any striking. BJJ is the only contact sport in which one can "live roll" (spar) with the power and speed of a real life altercation without injury.
BJJ is not an individual sport, you are a reflection of your coaches and training partners. The time invested in training on the mats with teammates creates friendships and bonds that become family, a family you are proud to represent. BJJ practitioners are rare a group of people, we thrive, grow, and excel best together.
